Reason for service changes

Due to road closures associated with the Northcote Rise Festival.

Tram service changes

  • Route 86 trams run a shortened service between Waterfront City Docklands and Stop 25 Clifton Hill Interchange, diverting via La Trobe Street between Spencer Street and Stop 11 Melbourne Museum.
  • Buses replace Route 86 trams between Stop 24 Michael Street and Bundoora RMIT, diverting around the festival via St Georges Road between Clarke Street and Arthurton Road.

Closed tram stops

The following tram stops will not be serviced by the replacement buses:

  • Stop 31 Northcote Townhall and High Street, connect with buses at temporary bus stops near Stop 30 Clarke Street
  • Stop 32 Mitchell Street and High Street, (to Bundoora RMIT) connect with buses at PTV bus stop on Arthurton Road
  • Stop 32 Mitchell Street and High Street (to Docklands) connect with buses at temporary bus stop on Arthurton Road
  • Stop 64 Mount Cooper Drive and Plenty Road (to Docklands) connect with buses at PTV bus stop near Stop 63 Greenwood Drive.

Follow wayfinding and at-stop signage for directions to the serviced stops.

Replacement buses

During the disruption, find your replacement bus using Busminder link or DM us at @yarratrams (Twitter or Facebook) for assistance.

Replacement buses will service existing tram stops, temporary bus stops or existing PTV bus stops where possible along High Street and Plenty Road. Follow the signage for directions to the temporary stops.

Replacement buses are low-floor accessible depending on availability. Speak to our Customer Service team or alert your driver if you need assistance

Trams and replacement buses run to a normal frequency during works however, there may be delays due to traffic congestion in the area.
