Reason for service changes

Metro Trains works on Glenferrie Road in Kooyong.

Service changes

Buses replace Route 16 trams between Stop 53 Malvern Station and Kew. Buses divert around the Gardiner Bridge via Monaro Road, Toorak Road, Auburn Road, Woodburn Road and Glenferrie Road.  

Closed tram stops

The following tram stops will be closed: 

• Stop 65 Kooyong Station (towards Melbourne University): Connect to buses at temporary bus stop in Monaro Road.
• Stop 65 Kooyong Station and Stop 66 Kooyong Tennis Centre (towards Kew): Connect to buses at Stop 67 Gardiner Road
• Stop 66 Kooyong Tennis Centre (towards Melbourne University): Connect to buses at temporary bus stop in Monaro Road (near Stop 65 Kooyon Station).

Replacement buses

Replacement buses are low floor and will service existing stops where possible. During the disruption, find your replacement bus using Busminder below or DM us at @yarratrams for assistance.

Trams and replacement buses run to normal frequency during works, however there may be delays due to traffic congestion around the area.

Alternative travel

Passengers may consider alternative travel between the city and Kew.

Buses also replace Route 16 trams between Stop 14 Arts Precinct and Stop 25 Commercial Road due to concurrent Metro Tunnel works for the new ANZAC Station along St Kilda Road.
