Reason for service change
Due to the Formula One Australian Grand Prix and Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show, buses replace some tram services to allow for extra tram services to major Melbourne public events.
Tram Service Changes
Thursday, 30 March to Sunday 2 April, first to last tram
- Buses replace Route 11 trams between West Preston and Stop 12 St Vincent’s Plaza.
To continue your journey, Route 11 trams run between Stop 12 St Vincent’s Plaza and Victoria Harbour Docklands. - Buses replace Route 82 trams between Footscray and Moonee Ponds.
Route 96
- Route 96 trams only run between East Brunswick & Stop 1 Southern Cross Station
- Buses replace Route 96 trams between between a temporary bus stop near Stop 3 William Street & Bourke Street and Stop 138 Luna Park diverting around Grand Prix precinct via Richardson and Mills Street.
- Passengers can also connect with Route 96 replacement buses from Stop 122 Southern Cross Station on Collins Street.
- Additional Route 96 bus replacements will run from Stop 122 Southern Cross Station to Stop 134 Park St and Fitzroy Street during peak hours on weekdays
- No trams are running in Acland Street.
Saturday 1 April to Sunday 2 April, first to last tram
- Buses replace Route 58 trams between Stop 115 Casino and Toorak.
To continue your journey, Route 58 trams run between Stop 116 City Road and West Coburg.
Planning your journey
Buses will depart from either existing kerbside tram stops, temporary bus stops or existing public transport bus stops.
In some cases, bus stops will be located away from the tram stop to enable the tram replacement bus service to operate. Please look out for way-finding signage to your stop.
We encourage you to plan ahead and allow extra time for your journey.
