Reason for service changes

Due to road closures associated with the annual Glenferrie Festival on Glenferrie Road.

Service changes

Route 16 trams run between Stop 1 Melbourne University and Stop 71 Urquhart Street.

Buses replace Route 16 trams between Stop 71 Urquhart Street and Kew terminus diverting around the festival precinct via Auburn Road.

Tram stop changes

The following stops will not be serviced by the replacement bus:

  • Stop 74  Glenferrie Station
  • Stop 75 Chrystobel Crescent / Liddiard Street
  • Stop 76  Johnson Street

Replacement buses

During the disruption, find your replacement bus using Busminder link or DM us at @yarratrams (Twitter or Facebook) for assistance.

Replacement buses will service existing tram stops or  temporary bus stops where possible. Follow the signage for directions to the temporary stops.

Replacement buses are low-floor accessible depending on availability. Speak to our Customer Service team or alert your driver if you need assistance

Alternate travel

  • Alamein/Belgrave/Lilydale line trains to/from Glenferrie Station.
  • Route 72 trams in Burke Road.
  • Walking between Burwood Road and Barkers Road, approximately 850m / 11min.

During this period, Route 16 trams and replacement buses run to a normal frequency, however, may not arrive at the scheduled time due to traffic congestion in the festival area.
