Box Hill Terminus

Service change update:

From first tram Tuesday 31 October to 12pm Thursday 2 November

Stop 58 Box Hill Central will be closed. Route 109 trams will run between Port Melbourne and Stop 57 Nelson Road.

Passengers will disembark at Stop 57 Nelson Road from Tuesday 31 October while trams continue through to the Box Hill Central Terminus to allow for platform works to safely continue.

Reason for service changes

A new Box Hill tram terminus is being constructed, relocated 40 metres west of current terminus. This will ensure that tram services are minimally impacted during major works for the new Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) station in Box Hill.

Tram service changes

 Buses replace Route 109 trams between Stop 53 Union Road and Box Hill Central.

• Until 2am Saturday 28 October

Trams run between Port Melbourne and a temporary stop near Union Road.

• 2am Saturday 28 October to last tram Monday 30 October

Trams run between Port Melbourne and Stop 53 Union Road.

Tram stops changes

The following tram stops will be closed and serviced by replacement buses:

• Union Road (until 2am Saturday 28 October)
• Inglisby Road
• Hood Street
• Elgar Road
• Nelson Road
• Box Hill Central

Replacement buses

Replacement buses will use existing tram stops, temporary bus stops or existing PTV bus stops where possible along Whitehorse Road. Follow the orange signage for directions to the temporary stop.

Alternative travel options

Passengers can consider Belgrave or Lilydale trains from Flinders Street or Parliament Station for an uninterrupted journey to Box Hill Station.
